why do ants like to eat sweet foods?

Do you know why do ants like to eat sweet foods?

Long, long time ago, all of the ants ate mosses and little flowers. One day, the king of the ants wanted to give his wife, the queen of the ants, a beautiful present for her birthday. The King decided to give the queen a delicious mosses and flowers for their dinner party. But, when the day had come, the dryness season was also come. So, the mosses and the flowers that would be given to the queen was dry and wilted.  The king was so confused. He told the queen that he cannot give the present on that time. But he promised he would give the present soon for the queen. The queen said it was ok, but she really cannot hide her disappointment from her face.

The king felt very guilty to the queen. So, he decided to find other foods that would be given as the queen’s birthday’s present by himself. He went around the land and he hope he would discover good mosses or flowers for his lovely wife. But in the contrary, he did not discover anything. All of the mosses and the flowers on the land was dry and wilted. The king felt so hopeless. He took a rest on the top of a hill to refreshed his mind. Suddenly, he felt something fell down on his head. A few of sugar from a big hole on a sack of sugar that carried by an old farmer were poured down on the king head. Then, the king took one of the sugar granules, and then he ate it and took some granules of the sugar again, and brought it for the queen and with a hope the queen would like it.

Apparently the queen liked it so much. She told the king that the sugar was the sweetest present from the king. The king was so happy to heard that. So, he instructed his servants to collect and distribute sugar for all of the ant’s food.  Since that, all of the ants like to eat sugar and sweeties things.
